Practice Shuga-ken Haiku
My brother decided to try some as he calls it "Shuga-ken Haiku". Meaning: Hawaii used to grow sugar cane and historically is very much like another Japanese province. Therefore, Shuga == Sugar in old Hawaii Japanese and cane == ken (ending for Japanese province). His pen name is Satoou Kibi

Ti Plants in Idaho
In Jun 2017 I planted these Ti Plants from canes purchased from Amazon. I bought 3 packages of 2 canes each and I managed to get 2 plants. They are considered plants that ward off evil spirits and bring good luck.
They thrive as house plants in well lighted rooms. They also do well in the winter with grow lights.
This is their first winter in Idaho so we purchased a grow light to augment the feeble sunlight streaming into the front room. Their leaves have a shine that was not there before the grow light.
