Sausage Caper Week - Tue, 16 Mar.
The Cat People made a run to MLK Blvd in search of new grocery prospects. We started at Hiroshi's Anzen, 736 NE MLK Blvd, 503-233-5111. Finally a Japanese Grocery Store run by Japanese speaking people. Felt right at home! Sort of reminds you of marrying the old Arakawa Store in Waipahu and Tamashiro Market on 802 N King St, Honolulu.
The Sheridan Fruit Co, 408 SE 3d Ave, 503-236-2113, now that is a fun place. Don't let Fruit Co part fool ya. They have a sausage and meat market to die for. And, don't let the 3d Ave address fool ya either. It is on SE MLK Blvd. We really enjoyed browsing the store. We found Hazelnut Toffee made by Willamette Valley Confectionery. All sugar, no corn syrup. What a treat! I ate one last evening and no after effects. I wanna dance all day. A toffee I can eat. We also got a couple of garlic-pepper sausages to try tomorrow.
