Needle Felting Tools

Needles, various types

Felting Books
Sample of Roving (Merino)
Tools.  Went to the Pacific Wool and Fiber store in Newberg today.  When I attended the beginner felting class on Sunday, Calley was not able to point me to many wool shops.  With information gained from the beginner class researched the Internet for Portland and Metro wool shops.  The premier sites were the Pacific Wool and Fiber, Woodland Woolworks in Yamhill, Northwest Wools in Multnomah Village, Portland and Twisted on NE Broadway, Portland.  Bob decided that we'd work outside in so on Wednesday took a field trip to Newberg and Yamhill.
We stopped at Pacific Wool and Fiber first.  We liked the cheery, bright little shop.  The only problem was that roving was sold either in sample sizes or bulk.  The sample sizes we know are expensive compared to the bulk but it would take lots and lots of dollars to assemble a good color palette in the bulk sizes.  Bought a book and a tool.
Continued on to lunch at the Golden Valley Brewery and Pub in McMinnville.  What a treat.  They serve grass fed beef from their ranch.  Slightly gamy for me, but delicious by any standard.  Then on to Yamhill to stop at Woodland Woolworks.  A little disappointing.  It is a shop in an old house.  Most of the wool, tools and books on needle felting were the same as the Pacific Wool and Fiber.  Ok.  We didn't purchase anything and left.
