When I was a child in Hawaii using crayons to color my artwork I could never understand why the makers of crayons wasted so much time making so many shades of green. The greens I saw in Hawaii were just green, blue green, light green, dark green and maybe yellowish green. It is a land of perpetual summer, why should there be more shades of green?
I never experienced spring in winter country until we moved to Oregon. My first spring, I understood why so many shades of greens. Every year I marvel at the many shades of green. Why I even question why only 32 or 33 shades of green? Amazing what a little bit of first hand knowledge can do!
