For the past several years we've used our front bedroom as a makeshift "hothouse" to accommodate "hothouse" plants that we've managed to accumulate over the years.
This year we planted 8 Ti-plant logs and successfully sprouted 4. These Ti-pants are from Hawaii. Strange to say that when we had them outside during the summer months, some kind of animal, probably chipmunk or squirrel started digging up the logs and eating them!
In Hawaii the Ti-plants are planted and the leaves worn for their powers to ward off evil spirits. The ancient Hawaiians used the Ti-plant roots to make a potent drink called "Okolehao", Hawaiian moonshine.
Wonder if the chipmunk or squirrel understands the meaning of edible Ti-plant roots?
